Stratos Keel
It is all about the keel. Offers the same outstanding features of the Stratos with the added stability of a 100kg/220lb lifting keel. What does the keel do for you?
- Allows maximum draught for optimal cruising and sailing performance
- Deep keel foil achieves maximum efficiency upwind so you can hit those knots
- Enables shallow mooring onto beaches and marina access
- Design stability of the hull means that she can be left on moorings un-attended
- Additionally, the mainsail can easily be reefed within minutes, even while sailing
- Mainsail: The Laser developed "Combi-tec" mainsail combines fully battened upper sail power with soft, body sail technology to provide a fully controllable sail. The slab reefing system reduces sail area in seconds whilst afloat and with the jib furling system, you choose and control all the power as and when you want it.
- Hull: The inherent design stability of the Stratos hull not only makes sailing fun and relaxing but means that she can be left on moorings un-attended. "Sailsafe" is a system of flooding and self draining side tanks to assist capsize recovery. All centre board dinghies can capsize and for the inexperienced or less agile, this can be a daunting experience. "Sailsafe" means that Stratos is easy to recover and stable during and immediately after recovery allowing the crew to quickly regain control. "Sailsafe" is unique to the Laser Stratos.
